1. Introduction

Welcome to MemeScreens (the “Site”). Your privacy is important to us. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and share your personal information when you visit or use our website.

MemeScreens shows ads served by Google AdSense and Adsterra (see section 4). We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information. We aim to collect only what we need to operate the Site and to keep it useful and secure.

2. Information We Collect

When you visit our Site, we automatically collect certain information about your device, including information about your web browser, IP address, time zone, and some of the cookies or local storage entries that are placed on your device. As you browse the Site, we collect information about the pages you view, the clips you interact with, and how you navigate the Site. We refer to this automatically-collected information as “Device Information.”

Device Information

• Cookies and local storage: We use a small number of cookies and browser storage entries that are necessary for the Site to function. This includes a session cookie that keeps you logged in if you create an account, and a browser-stored identifier used to remember which clips you have liked as a guest. Google AdSense and Adsterra also set advertising cookies, described in section 4. For more information about cookies and how to manage them, visit allaboutcookies.org.
• Log data: Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, records standard request information such as your IP address, user-agent, referring page, and timestamps. This data is used to operate the Site, detect abuse, and analyze traffic in aggregate.
• Hashed IP address: When you download a clip, or view a collection while logged out, we store a salted one-way hash of your IP address — never the address itself — with the date. We use it to count unique views and downloads and to detect abuse.

Personal Information

If you register for an account, we collect:

• Email address — used to log in, communicate with you about your account, and recover access if needed.
• Username — displayed publicly next to clips you upload and on public collections you create. You can change your username once from your profile.
• Password — stored only in hashed form; we do not have access to your plaintext password.

If you upload clips, we also store the clip files, thumbnails, titles, descriptions, tags, and basic metadata associated with your account.

If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and Google account ID with us. We use your first name to suggest your initial username.

Collections you create are public by default: anyone with the link can see the collection's name, its clips, and your username. You can make any collection private. Clips you like while logged in appear in the Favorites tab of your profile, which only you can see.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve the Site
• Allow you to log in, manage your account, and access uploaded content
• Display public information you have chosen to share (such as your username next to clips you upload and on public collections)
• Understand how visitors use the Site in aggregate
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and violations of our Terms of Service
• Comply with legal requirements

Ads on the Site are served by Google AdSense and Adsterra, as described in section 4. We do not share your account information, such as your email address, with advertisers.

4. Analytics and Advertising

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use our Site. Cloudflare Web Analytics is a privacy-friendly analytics product that does not use client-side state (such as cookies or localStorage) to track visitors, and does not collect IP addresses, user-agent strings, or any data that can be used to identify or fingerprint individual visitors.

We show ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this Site and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this Site and/or other sites on the Internet.

We also show ads served by Adsterra. Adsterra and its advertising partners may use cookies and collect information such as your IP address, browser type, and device details to deliver and measure ads. You can learn more in Adsterra's privacy policy.

If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Google's consent message asks for your consent before personalized ads are shown. You can change your choice later by clearing this Site's cookies in your browser, which shows the consent message again.

You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ad Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info. 5. Sharing Your Personal Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share personal information with third parties only in the following limited cases:

• Service providers — Cloudflare hosts the Site, stores uploaded files in Cloudflare R2, and stores account data in Cloudflare D1. These providers process information on our behalf under their own privacy and security obligations.
• Google — serves ads through Google AdSense (see section 4) and provides “Sign in with Google” if you choose to use it.
• Email delivery — Resend sends account emails, such as email verification and password resets, to your email address.
• Legal compliance — We may share information to comply with applicable laws and regulations, to respond to a subpoena, search warrant, or other lawful request for information we receive, or to protect our rights, property, or safety, or that of our users or others.

6. Do Not Track

Our Site does not respond to Do Not Track signals from your browser. MemeScreens itself does not track you across other websites, but Google AdSense, which serves ads on the Site, may use cookies across websites as described in section 4.

7. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, contact us at the email address below.

If you are a resident of the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, you have additional rights under the GDPR or equivalent laws, including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Please note that your information may be transferred outside of Europe, including to Canada and the United States, where our service providers operate.

If you are a resident of California, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information we collect about you and the right to request deletion. We do not sell personal information under any reading of the CCPA.

8. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will remove your personal information from active systems within a reasonable period, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or operational reasons (such as records of copyright takedown notices).

Clips you have uploaded will be removed from the public Site when your account is deleted; we may retain non-identifying aggregate information for analytics and operational purposes.

9. Data Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including password hashing, encrypted connections (HTTPS), and the security infrastructure provided by Cloudflare. No method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Site is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or for legal or operational reasons. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last Updated” date at the top.
